On Oct. 1st, 2012 I left Charlotte, NC on a cross country journey to Portland, OR. I ended up in Champaign, IL and I love it! I'm looking forward to meeting more of my fellow bloggers, photographers, and artist to learn all I can about the creative life. I mostly post photos, videos, and blog entries about my experiences. Recently I have begun geeking out on glitch art and making my own animated gifs. I love feedback, and I feel that creativity flows much more freely in large numbers. If you would like to contact me directly for any reason just email me at rw@thefosterkid.com. Thank you and happy creating to you all!
#1.1 Our first podcast! Z, Lydia & R.W. discuss how we first met & what this Sidebar Sluts situation is all about. We also chat about The Art Theater, R.W.’s epic road trip adventure, celebrity obsessions and um, upscale glory holes. Well, we’ve always wanted to know about that…haven’t you?
Episode 1 of the new podcast I’m doing with some wonderful friends here in Champaign. Please give it a listen and let us know what you think!
Working at The Art couldn’t be any more amusing!

This camera is perfect for the “cheese finger”!!!
You’ve been GIFed… You knew this was coming!!!
Of course I fancy myself somewhat of a photographer as well :) …even when I have to use my iPad!
edit: That dude on the laptop was looking at Leicas on B&H and I really wanted to go bug him, but of course I didn’t.

There are never a shortage of pictures of yourself when you’re besties with a photographer

Diaries From the Road (10.07-08.12) Z and Max
After leaving Dayton, OH I headed straight for Champaign, IL to meet the first person I ever really talked to on Tumblr. Her name is Z and if you don’t follow her you should! …It’s OK, I’ll wait…
OK, I got into Champaign around 1AM. I found Max’s work and snapped a quick photo and texted it to Z. Just to catch you up, Max is Z’s amazing girlfriend and the reason Z picked up one day and moved her life from Las Vegas to Champaign, and understandably so! I was pretty sure they were still up when I sent the message. I was right because seconds later I got a text back “Whaaaaaaaat?! Where you at mutha fucka?!”. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been more excited. She gave me address and I headed right over! After a bit of fun confusion and Z loosing both me and Max for a few minutes, I finally made it!
It was awesome! We sat round and talked about the road trip and meeting people from the internet. We talked about TV shows, comics, computers, and all other forms of geekdom. I loved them both from the minute I sat down. I even tried to help them fix their coffee maker. I didn’t want to leave, but four o’clock rolled and I figured if I didn’t get out of there soon nobody was getting any sleep. So we made plans to meet for lunch later that day and I headed for the hotel.
We met for lunch at Papa Del’s around two. We ordered a deep dish pie stuffed with zucchini and black olives. The pizza takes about an hour to cook so we talked and took silly pictures. The pizza arrives and wow, it was the best I’ve ever had. We discussed our plans for the rest of the day. Z had to work and Max had to study. I really wanted to stay and bug Max, but I figured I better just go back to the hotel and get a little extra rest and play catch up. So we finished up and parted ways for the day.
Monday I got up a little early to shower and check out of the hotel. I texted Z and we met at her house around noon. We walked through the park and headed into town. First things first, we stopped for coffee! Z took me by her work and showed me the place where she will get a new whole punched in her face the next time I’m in town. We went into a really cool comic shop and bought some comics. Max rode her bike to meet us for lunch at Farren’s Pub. Max walked with us for a few minutes after lunch and then she had to head back. Z and I went for more coffee and then we went to a costume shop and goofed off for a bit. On the way back home we stopped in the coolest video game store ever. I seriously think they had all the nintendo games ever, they even had a few intellivision games! We got back to the house and chatted some more while we waited on max to get home from work. I really didn’t want to leave (there was a place across the street for rent and I joked about just staying… I WASN’T JOKING THOUGH!!!), but we headed out to the car and They signed while I took a few more pictures. Big hugs all around and off I went… for now…
z85 replied to your video: Here’s a quick video I cut together of my buddy…
i wanted to see some titties…
